Under the proposal, eligible investors will receive one bonus equity share of face value ₹1 each for every one existing equity share held on the record date, which will be announced separately by the board.
The pharmaceutical company plans to issue 10.46 crore bonus shares, aggregating to ₹10.46 crore. Following the bonus issue, Concord Biotech’s paid-up equity share capital will double from ₹10.46 crore to ₹20.92 crore, with the total number of outstanding equity shares rising to 20.92 crore.
The bonus shares will be issued by capitalising the company’s share premium account. Concord Biotech will utilise ₹10.46 crore from its share premium reserves for the issue, compared with a balance of ₹81.97 crore as of March 31, 2026.
The company said the bonus shares are expected to be credited or dispatched within two months of the board’s approval, subject to statutory and shareholder clearances. The process is expected to be completed by November 22, 2026.
Concord Biotech’s first bonus issue
The bonus issue will be the first in Concord Biotech’s history, according to exchange data, making it a key shareholder reward announcement for investors in the pharmaceutical company.
Shareholding data for the June quarter showed promoters holding a 44.08% stake, while public shareholders accounted for 55.92%. Among the latter, trusts associated with the Jhunjhunwala family were significant investors, with a combined 24.09% holding. The Aryavir, Aryaman, and Nishtha Jhunjhunwala Discretionary Trusts each owned 8.03% of the company.
The stock also enjoys broad retail ownership. Nearly 79,000 small shareholders holding shares worth up to ₹2 lakh collectively owned 7.03% of Concord Biotech as of the June quarter, according to exchange disclosures.
Authorised share capital also doubled
Alongside the bonus issue, the board approved increasing Concord Biotech’s authorised share capital from ₹11 crore to ₹22 crore, divided into 22 crore equity shares of ₹1 each. The move is also subject to shareholders’ approval.
Concord Biotech Q1 earnings
Concord Biotech reported its first-quarter earnings on July 31. Its net profit increased 32.8% to ₹58.5 crore from ₹44.05 crore last year. Revenue increased 26.2% to ₹257.4 crore from ₹202.4 crore.
The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 34.2% to ₹82.4 crore from ₹61.3 crore, while its margin expanded to 32% from 30.1% in the year-ago period.
Concord Biotech stock price performance
Shares of the company ended a little over 2% higher at ₹1,565 on Wednesday, ahead of the bonus issue announcement. With today’s gains, the stock turned positive for the month. It has gained more than 17% so far in 2026, while delivering a negative 4% return in the last 12 months.
The stock made its debut in August 2023 and has since more than doubled from its issue price of ₹741 per share.
