Vascon Engineers shares jump up to 14% on ₹660 crore order from Qualcomm India


Shares of Vascon Engineers Ltd. gained up to 14% on Friday, September 25, after the company said it received a design and build, GMP contract worth ₹660.79 crore from Qualcomm India. The stock though, has given up most of its gains.

The order is for the development of an office facility (Block K), comprising three basements, ground + 12 floors and associated infrastructure in Bengaluru.

The work is to be completed within 30 months from the date of site handover, the company said.

Last month, the company secured a letter of intent for a contract worth ₹126.4 crore from PWD, Nagpur to develop a general hospital.

The company also reported a weak set of first quarter earnings last month.

Its profit declined 91% in the June quarter to ₹2.01 crore from ₹22.47 crore in the previous year.

Its revenue was down 31% at ₹151.94 crore from ₹221.18 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

The company’s earnings before interest tax depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) decline d62% to ₹4.94 crore from ₹13.03 crore while its margin contracted to 3.29% from 5.89% in the year-ago period.

Shares of Vascon Engineering gained 14.1% to hit an intraday high of ₹38 per hare after market open on Friday, September 25. However, it later pared its gains to trade 3.9% higher at ₹34.60. The stock has gained 12.6% in the past but has fallen 22.8% this year, so far.
