India’s gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections rose 14.7% year-on-year to over ₹2.04 lakh crore in September, according to provisional data released by the government on Thursday (October 1).
Gross GST revenue from domestic activities increased 10.1% to around ₹1.38 lakh crore during the month, while collections from imports rose 26% to ₹65,525 crore.
GST refunds declined 3% year-on-year to ₹27,001 crore in September.
After accounting for refunds, net GST collections increased 18.1% year-on-year to over ₹1.76 lakh crore.In the first six months of the financial year, from April to September, gross GST collections rose 11.6% to over ₹12.46 lakh crore. Net GST revenue during the period increased 10.4% to over ₹10.66 lakh crore.
