US President Donald Trump on Thursday criticised rock musician Bruce Springsteen in a social media post, accusing the singer of having what he described as “Trump Derangement Syndrome”.“Bad, and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon, has long had a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS,” Trump said through a post on Truth Social.
In the post, Trump criticised Springsteen’s music and accused him of spreading “hate” against him, while also calling for supporters of his “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement to boycott the singer’s concerts.“The guy is a total loser who spews hate against a President who won a Landslide Election, including the popular vote, all Seven Swing States, and 86% of the Counties across America. Under Sleepy Joe and the Dems, our Country was DEAD, and now we have the “hottest” Country, by far, anywhere in the World. Maga should boycott his overpriced concerts, which suck. Save your hard earned money. America is back!!!” Trump added. The long-standing feud between the president and Bruce Springsteen dates back to at least 2016. In September that year, just months before the presidential election, Springsteen criticised Trump in an interview with Rolling Stone, calling him a “moron”, warning that the republic was “under siege”, and describing the situation as “a tragedy for our democracy.”Since then, the “Born to Run” singer has remained vocal in his criticism of the president, describing his administration last year as “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous,” as cited by The Independent.Earlier this week, Springsteen began a tour in Minneapolis, referencing the city’s protests against Trump’s immigration crackdown.Springsteen also endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election and previously co-hosted a podcast with former President Barack Obama titled “Renegades: Born in the USA.”
