L&T unit wins mega orders worth up to ₹15,000 crore in India, Saudi Arabia, UAE; Stock gains


Shares of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) gained on Monday, October 5, after the company’s Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business secured multiple engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) orders in India and overseas. L&T has termed these orders cumulatively as “mega”.

L&T classifies those orders whose size ranges between ₹10,000 crore to ₹15,000 crore as “mega” orders

The projects won aim to strengthen power transmission infrastructure and enable renewable energy evacuation.

In Saudi Arabia, L&T’s PT&D business has won orders in the 380 kV transmission and substation segments. The projects will support transmission capacity augmentation and renewable energy evacuation, helping strengthen the country’s power transmission network and integrate renewable energy into the grid.

The company has also secured an order in the United Arab Emirates for the construction of 132/11 kV substations and associated cabling works.

In the domestic market, L&T has received an order from a leading private sector developer to set up a transmission system in Visakhapatnam, comprising transmission lines and substations.

The latest wins come amid growing demand for grid infrastructure to support renewable energy integration. Joji Sebastian, Executive Vice President & Head – PT&D, L&T, said the orders demonstrate the breadth of the business’s engineering and execution capabilities and its ability to deliver complex power infrastructure solutions across geographies.

“With the growing demand for grid strengthening, renewable energy integration and associated infrastructure, we are leveraging our technology, project execution expertise and global presence to deliver value for our esteemed clients,” Sebastian said.

L&T’s PT&D business provides end-to-end solutions across transmission lines, substations, underground cable networks, distribution networks, power quality improvement and infrastructure electrification projects.

Shares of the company rose almost 1.5% following the order win announcement on Monday and were trading 1% higher at ₹3,730.5. The stock is down 10% so far this year.
