The US has initiated an anti-dumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) investigation into certain amine compounds imported from China, with alleged dumping margins ranging between 261% and 476%.
However, no final duties have been imposed so far.
According to 360 ONE Capital, the investigation is unlikely to have a direct impact on Indian amine manufacturers, including Balaji Amines, Alkyl Amines Chemicals and Indo Amines Ltd.
The brokerage said the market reaction to the US probe appears to be overdone, as the investigation covers specialty polyurethane catalysts rather than commodity amines.
360 ONE Capital does not expect any meaningful near-term benefit for Indian amine manufacturers from the US action against Chinese imports.
