The new facility will house an AI Center of Excellence, where enterprises can explore HCLTech’s full-stack artificial intelligence (AI) portfolio, including AI-led service transformation, industry AI solutions, AI Foundry, AI engineering, AI Factory and AI advisory.
The facility will also serve as a training hub for developing next-generation technology talent in South Africa and strengthening the country’s digital workforce.

Focus on local talent
HCLTech said it has supported nearly 500 students and learners over the last five years, with nearly 50 participants subsequently joining the company in full-time roles. The company has partnerships with the University of Johannesburg, University of Pretoria and North-West University to strengthen the local digital talent pipeline.
Over the same five-year period, HCLTech’s ICT and digital literacy programmes have reached more than 20,000 beneficiaries across South Africa.
The company said its leadership team marked the new headquarters’ opening with a ceremony at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, reinforcing its long-term commitment to South Africa’s technology ecosystem.
HCLTech has more than 223,000 employees across 60 countries, with consolidated revenue of $14.8 billion for the 12 months ended June 2026.
Shares of the company ended 1.8% lower at ₹1,182.90 ahead of the announcement on Wednesday. The stock has declined about 28% so far in 2026 and 17.5% over the last 12 months.
