Avenue Supermarts Q2 net profit rises 8.5%, revenue up 17.8%


Avenue Supermarts, which operates DMart stores, reported an 8.5% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹743.5 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026 (Q2 FY27), against ₹685 crore a year earlier, the company said on 10 October 2026.

Consolidated revenue rose 17.8% to ₹19,644 crore from ₹16,676 crore. EBITDA grew 15% to ₹1,394 crore from ₹1,214 crore. The margin was 7%, against 7.3% a year ago.

On a standalone basis, net profit rose 7.6% to ₹803.5 crore from ₹746.5 crore. Revenue grew 18.4% to ₹19,206 crore from ₹16,219 crore, and EBITDA rose 14% to ₹1,403 crore from ₹1,230 crore. The margin was 7%, against 7.6% a year ago. Standalone basic earnings per share (EPS) stood at ₹12.32, against ₹11.47.

For the half year ended 30 September 2026 (H1 FY27), standalone revenue grew 16.8% to ₹37,550 crore. EBITDA rose 15.2% to ₹2,930 crore, and net profit increased 10.3% to ₹1,739 crore. Standalone basic EPS was ₹26.67, against ₹24.22.

Consolidated half-year revenue stood at ₹38,439 crore, against ₹33,036 crore a year earlier. Consolidated EBITDA was ₹2,892 crore, against ₹2,513 crore, and net profit was ₹1,603 crore, against ₹1,458 crore.

Commenting on the DMart brick-and-mortar business, Managing Director and CEO Anshul Asawa said stores that are two years and older grew 9.5% in Q2 FY27, against 6.8% in Q2 FY26. He said the pricing proposition remains strong in an inflationary environment, while wage inflation at entry level has led to a marginal increase in operating expenses.

The company opened 15 new stores during the quarter, taking its total store count to 518. This includes one store at Navi Mumbai that is currently closed for customers due to reconstruction. The company added 18 stores in H1 FY27. As of 30 September 2026, the stores had a retail business area of 21.4 million sq ft.

Vikram Dasu, whole-time director and CEO of Avenue E-Commerce, said on the DMart Ready business that the company is focused on driving greater operational efficiencies and strengthening customer experience in the cities where it currently operates.
