Nana Patekar’s cause of death revealed: Autopsy report finds blood clot in left main coronary artery

Actor Nana Patekar died of a heart attack caused by a blood clot blocking the left main coronary artery, which supplies blood to a significant portion of the heart, according to his postmortem report. A senior doctor at the state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) confirmed the findings on Sunday.According to news agency PTI, the autopsy established the cause of death as “acute myocardial infarction due to left main coronary artery thrombosis secondary to atherosclerotic occlusive coronary artery disease, a natural cause of death”.The 75-year-old actor was rushed to a private hospital in the early hours of October 8 after falling ill at his residence in Dona Paula, near Panaji. His caretaker had contacted the hospital requesting an ambulance, following which one was dispatched to his apartment, located less than a kilometre away.Despite doctors attempting cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for approximately 45 minutes, Patekar could not be revived. He was declared dead at 5.10 am, with a doctor initially suspecting a heart attack. His mortal remains were later taken to GMCH for a postmortem examination.Following the autopsy, his son, Malhar, arrived in Goa to take his father’s body back. The mortal remains were transported to Pune and subsequently taken to the family’s farmhouse in Donje village, where the veteran actor was cremated with full state honours.Several prominent personalities from politics, cinema and other fields attended the funeral to pay their last respects. Among those present were Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, Union ministers Ramdas Athawale and Murlidhar Mohol, Lok Sabha MP Sunil Tatkare, NAAM Foundation co-founder and actor Makarand Anaspure, FDA commissioner Tukaram Mundhe and actor Jackie Shroff.Nana Patekar, remembered for his powerful performances across Hindi and Marathi cinema, was last seen in [insert the title of his most recent film]. His demise marks the end of a celebrated career spanning decades, during which he earned recognition for his versatility and distinctive screen presence.
