Stock Market Holiday Today, April 3: Indian stock markets will remain closed on Friday, April 3, in observance of Good Friday. Neither the BSE and NSE will not conduct any trading on this day.
This marks the second market holiday of the week and the first for April. Earlier, markets were closed on March 31 for Mahavir Jayanti. According to the official holiday calendar of the BSE and NSE, April 3 is designated as a trading holiday for Good Friday.

The Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX), India’s largest commodity exchange, will also remain closed on April 3 for Good Friday. Both the morning and evening sessions will be off.
As a result, trading in commodity futures such as gold, silver, copper, base metals, crude oil, and other commodities on MCX will be closed for the entire day.
Resumption of Trading: Market operations are expected to resume on Monday, April 6.
Upcoming 2026 Market Holidays
In total, the Indian stock market will observe 16 holidays in 2026. Following this week, the next scheduled market holiday will be on April 14 for Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti, followed by Maharashtra Day on May 1 and Bakri Id on May 28.
Additional market closures planned for the remainder of the year include Muharram on June 26, Ganesh Chaturthi on September 14, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, Dussehra on October 20, Diwali-Balipratipada on November 10, Prakash Gurpurb Sri Guru Nanak Dev on November 24, and Christmas on December 25.
