ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has commissioned an additional 17.91 MW/74.323 MWh of battery energy storage capacity at its project in Rajasthan, taking the operational capacity of its wholly owned subsidiary ACME Sigma Urja Pvt Ltd to 71.64 MW/297.292 MWh.
The newly commissioned capacity forms part of a 250 MW/1,069 MWh firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project at Neemri village in Rawatbhata tehsil, Chittorgarh district. Commercial operations of the additional capacity are scheduled to begin on October 25, the company said in a stock exchange filing on Friday.
The commissioning follows an earlier update dated September 30. The project’s total planned battery storage capacity is 250 MW, with a discharge capacity of 1,069 MWh.
Battery energy storage systems can store electricity and release it when required, helping renewable energy projects supply power more reliably when solar or wind generation fluctuates.
