Infosys has completed the implementation of a global SAP S/4HANA platform for Syngenta’s Crop Protection business, bringing operations across multiple enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems onto a single digital platform covering more than 10,000 employees in 80 countries.
The programme, called Crop Protection Core (CP Core), was delivered jointly by Infosys and Syngenta. It is designed to simplify business operations, strengthen governance and provide a scalable foundation for future innovation, Infosys said in a press release on Tuesday, October 27.
Built on SAP S/4HANA, the platform integrates research, manufacturing, supply chain, regulatory, finance and commercial functions. It also reduces core customisations in line with SAP best practices and provides greater visibility across Syngenta’s global Crop Protection business.
Feroz Sheikh, chief information and digital officer at Syngenta, said, “CP Core gives our people a simpler, more reliable way to work, helping us better serve farmers across all our markets.”
“By bringing our operations onto one modern digital foundation, we are strengthening collaboration, improving agility, and enabling our teams to focus on advancing innovation and delivering the science and solutions that growers rely on,” Sheikh said.
AI capabilities introduced to automate routine activities
The transformation uses Infosys Topaz, its suite of artificial intelligence (AI)-first services, solutions and platforms, along with Infosys Cobalt cloud offerings.
According to Infosys, the implementation helped modernise business processes, improve data quality and establish a trusted enterprise data foundation. AI capabilities were introduced to automate routine activities and standardise processes, while keeping people at the centre of critical business decisions.
Jasmeet Singh, executive vice-president and global head of manufacturing at Infosys, said, “Large-scale ERP transformations require precision, deep industry expertise, and flawless execution and the successful implementation of CP Core reflects all three.”
“Together with Syngenta, we have simplified the enterprise landscape, established a modern digital core, and created a scalable platform for continuous innovation,” Singh said.
He added that the project builds on Infosys’ longstanding collaboration with Syngenta and combines its understanding of the company’s business with its Infosys Cobalt and Infosys Topaz capabilities.
Syngenta employs more than 30,000 people across over 90 countries and operates two business units: Syngenta Crop Protection, headquartered in Switzerland, and Syngenta Seeds, headquartered in the United States.
Shares of Infosys ended 0.3% at ₹1,163 ahead of the announcement on Tuesday. The stock has declined about 29% so far in 2026 and nearly 23% over the last 12 months.
