Industrial Dearness Allowance hike: Check revised DA rates for CPSE employees under four pay scales

The Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), under the Ministry of Finance, has revised Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) rates for executives and non-unionised supervisors of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), effective October 1.

According to an office memorandum dated October 27, the revised rates apply to executives holding board-level and below board-level posts, as well as non-unionised supervisors following the 1987, 1997, 2007 and 2017 pay scales.

IDA rates for CPSE employees from October 1

Under the revised rates, the DA payable to eligible employees following the 1997 pay scale has been set at 489.5%, while the rate for those following the 2007 pay scale is 249.2%. For employees under the 2017 pay scale, the DA rate is 59.1%.

For executives and non-unionised supervisors following the 1987 pay scale, the memorandum states that the DA payable at an average All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) of 10,069 may be ₹18,728.

The memorandum also states that, under the old system of neutralisation, the quantum of IDA payable for an increase of 215 points may be ₹430.

What does the DPE memorandum say?

The office memorandum was issued on October 27 from the Department of Public Enterprises in New Delhi.

The DPE has asked all administrative ministries and departments of the Government of India to bring the revised rates to the notice of CPSEs under their administrative control for necessary action.

The memorandum was issued with the approval of the Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, and signed by Shivani Maheshwari, Joint Director.

The revised IDA rates relate to employees covered by the specified CPSE pay scales and should not be confused with the Dearness Allowance revision applicable to central government employees under the Central Pay Commission pay structure.
