Axis Bank has announced revision in its fees and charges for savings and salary accounts, with the new structure set to come into effect from December 1, 2026.
The changes cover non-maintenance of minimum balance, cash transactions, cheque returns, relationship value requirements and reward points.
Under the revised fee structure, the maximum monthly service charge for non-maintenance of the Average Monthly Balance (AMB) in domestic savings accounts will increase for customers in semi-urban and rural locations.
The charge will continue to be calculated at 6% of the shortfall in the required AMB. However, the maximum charge will now be capped at ₹600 across metro, urban, semi-urban and rural locations. Currently, the maximum charge is ₹600 for metro and urban locations, ₹300 for semi-urban locations and ₹150 for rural locations.
For Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Easy Access and equivalent accounts, the maximum charge will also be ₹600 across all locations, against the existing limit of ₹600 for metro and urban branches and ₹300 for semi-urban and rural branches.
There will be no minimum charge for non-maintenance of the required balance. The provision applies to domestic and NRI Easy Access and equivalent accounts and does not apply to salaried customers.
Total Relationship Value requirement increased
Axis Bank has also revised the Total Relationship Value (TRV) requirement for domestic and NRI accounts under categories such as Prime, Prestige, Priority, Sampann, Advantage, Arise Women’s and Burgundy.
Customers will now be required to maintain 100% of the prescribed TRV, compared with 75% under the existing structure.
Free cash transaction limit reduced
The free cash transaction limit for Easy Access and equivalent accounts, as well as Krishi and Sahaj savings accounts, will be reduced from four transactions to three transactions.
Under the revised structure, customers will be allowed three free cash transactions or transactions up to ₹1 lakh, whichever is earlier. The existing limit is four transactions or ₹1 lakh, whichever is earlier.
Cheque return charges revised
The bank has also revised outward cheque return charges for specified domestic and NRI savings account categories.
Currently, customers are charged ₹50 for the first cheque return and ₹100 for the second return onwards. From December 1, the charge will be a flat ₹200 per return.
For NRI Burgundy, Priority, Prestige and Prime account holders, deliverable return charges will increase from ₹50 to ₹500 per return.
EDGE REWARD points discontinued
Axis Bank will discontinue EDGE REWARD points for Burgundy, Priority, Prestige and Prime NRI accounts, as well as Easy NRI accounts, under the revised structure. These customers are currently eligible to earn points under the existing EDGE REWARDS programme.
The revised fees and charges will come into effect from December 1. All charges are exclusive of taxes and will attract Goods and Services Tax (GST), wherever applicable.
