'Gaddar': BJP accuses Rahul Gandhi of treason, calls him 'Bhasmasur'
Bhatia described Rahul Gandhi as a destructive force and accused him of promoting anarchy instead of respecting India’s democratic framework.

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Congress leader and leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of treason, promoting anarchy and attempting to undermine India’s democratic institutions.BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia labelled Rahul Gandhi ‘gaddar’ (traitor) and ‘Bhasmasur’, alleging that his political approach was aimed at destabilising the country and weakening its constitutional framework.Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Bhatia questioned Rahul Gandhi’s foreign engagements, raised allegations over the Congress’s memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Communist Party of China (CCP) and demanded answers about the alleged funding of protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.“This issue is about the model of anarchy, disorder, and treason that the Leader of the Opposition is presenting to the country… That is why he is being referred to as ‘Rahul Gaddar’,” Bhatia said.He also accused Rahul of advocating unconstitutional regime change and attempting to weaken democratic institutions.

‘Bhasmasur’: BJP accuses Rahul of seeking to strangle democracy

Bhatia described Rahul Gandhi as a destructive force and accused him of promoting anarchy instead of respecting India’s democratic framework.“If India has one greatest strength, it lies in its democratic government, its reverence for the Constitution, and the stability it has maintained for 12 years. On the other hand, there is an opposition that is anarchic in its thinking, anti-Constitution, and openly speaks of overthrowing the government. Rahul Gandhi believes in anarchy and destruction; it is not for nothing that he is called a ‘Bhasmasura’ (a destructive force). He has become the kind of leader who seeks to usher in anarchy by killing democracy, strangling it to death,” he said. The BJP spokesperson alleged that the opposition was seeking to overthrow elected governments and undermine constitutional institutions, including Parliament and the Supreme Court.“The other ideology says that whatever you build, our only task is to destroy it. That is why Rahul Gandhi is not called Bhasmasur without reason. If anyone is attempting to destroy these institutions, it is Rahul Gandhi,” he said.

‘People will end your political careers’: BJP warns Rahul, Mamata and Tejashwi

Bhatia also targeted Gandhi, former West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav over their alleged support for regime change. He warned that repeated calls for regime change could instead turn public opinion against the opposition and threaten the political future of its leaders.“I say this with a lot of responsibility: people wanting a regime change might witness a situation where the people of the country feel that the Opposition is irresponsible and should be changed. The public will find an alternative to the opposition; do not imagine, Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, or Tejashwi Yadav, that you will gain anything through anarchy. This public will put an end to your political careers. India’s democracy will remain unscathed,” he said. The remarks came amid a controversy over the use of the phrase ‘regime change’ by senior advocate Prashant Bhushan, All India Students Association (AISA) president Neha Bora and Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera during public statements and press conferences in Delhi. The comments were made in the context of protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

BJP questions Rahul’s foreign meetings, demands answers on China MoU

Bhatia also questioned Rahul Gandhi’s meetings with foreign figures, including US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and Mushfiqul Fazal, whom he accused of adopting anti-India positions.“How can the leader of opposition in India be anti-India? How can he betray the nation?… The central question is why Rahul Gandhi is meeting individuals like Ilhan Omar or Mushfiqul Fazal who adopt anti-India stances. Is there any discussion about weakening India and bringing about regime change?” he asked. He further demanded that Gandhi disclose the contents of the Congress’s MoU with the Communist Party of China and explain the alleged funding behind protests.“Rahul Gandhi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Communist Party of China (CCP) but has not disclosed what it contains to this day… He must also clarify where the funding for these protests, which are being organized with the aim of creating anarchy, is coming from.”

BJP accuses Rahul of inappropriate conduct with woman police officer

The BJP spokesperson also accused Gandhi of inappropriate physical conduct with a woman police officer during an anti-CEC protest on Ashoka Road near Jantar Mantar.
