While many had been celebrating the final teaser, Lady Gaga and Doechii’s song, as well as the latest teaser posters of the returning cast members, there is another major update about he film. ‘Charlie’s Angels’ star Lucy Liu recently confirmed that she is also going to be appearing in the film!
Lucy Liu confirms ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ role
While she was talking to PEOPLE in a recent interview, the 57 year old actress candidly admitted that fans will be able to see her in ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2.’ She revealed that she had a “mystery role”, as no details about her being in the film were ever made public. Not only that, but she also does not appear even once in any of the teasers that have been shared online with the public. Talking about her surprise role, the actress shared, “I think that’s what’s special about it. I think everyone’s looking forward to it.” Furthermore, she adds on to the excitement and says, “It’s going to be highly entertaining. It’s going to give you all the things, all the eye candy, and it’s going to show that these characters have grown and changed.”
Lucy Liu says that fans want to see what is different with the characters
In the interview, the actress further added that one of the things that fans are most interested in seeing is how all of the characters have grown from the original film. ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ is set around 20 years after the events of the 2006 cult classic. “They want to know 20 years later what’s different, because you don’t want to get served the same thing,” Liu quipped about the matter.

She concluded her interview by saying it was an “absolute reverie” to work on a film she has always been such a big fan of. Furthermore, she recalled what it was like on set with the leading ladies of the film, citing, “Working with Annie and Meryl together in a scene was just amazing. Being plopped into someone else’s sequel, as opposed to your own that you’re in,” Liu added, was another exciting feat.‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ will hit theatres worldwide on May 1 this year.
