Parle Products IPO: Parle Products, a premier Indian FMCG company, known for the world’s best-selling biscuit brand, Parle-G, is exploring a potential IPO. According to the IFR (International Financing Review), the company is underway to meet banks for an around $1 billion India IPO.
Founded by the Chauhan family in Mumbai, the company was established in 1929. Parle-G, launched in 1939 as Parle Gluco, is the cornerstone of the company’s success. The company baked their first biscuit in 1939: Parle Gluco. That humble beginning gave rise to India’s most iconic biscuit, Parle-G. Beyond Parle-G, the company also produces brands like Monaco, KrackJack, Hide & Seek, Melody, Mango Bite, and Kismi. Parle Products introduced Monaco in 1942 as India’s first salted cracker. Further, the company’s confectionery range expanded with Kismi in 1963 and Poppins in 1966.
Parle now has manufacturing units in 7 countries outside of India- Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Nepal. In 2018, the company also added a new manufacturing plant at Mexico.
