The company said the capacity became operational with effect from 00:00 hours on May 2, 2026, following successful commissioning. The 100 MW forms part of the broader 176 MW solar PV project at the site.
With this addition, NTPC Group’s total installed capacity has increased to 89,805 MW, while its commercial capacity stands at 88,725 MW.
The development marks a further expansion of the company’s renewable energy portfolio as it continues to add solar capacity to its overall power generation mix.
Last month, NTPC had signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Electricite de France (EDF) to explore cooperation in developing new nuclear power projects in India, following approvals from relevant government ministries and departments.
As per a press release filed at the exchange, the MoU was signed by Arnada Prasad Samal, CGM (Nuclear Cell), on behalf of NTPC, and Vakisasi Ramany, Senior Vice President, International Nuclear Development, representing EDF.
