Mercedes driver George Russell is on a roll after winning the season opener in Melbourne and then claiming victory in the Sprint after starting from pole position. He also secured second place in qualifying ahead of Sunday’s final at the Chinese Grand Prix. While Russell has been dominating on track so far, his girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt has been cheering from the stands. She also spent time with Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc’s wife, Alexandra Leclerc, at the Shanghai International Circuit.

Taking to Instagram Stories, George Russell’s girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt shared a few pictures from her time in Shanghai. She posted a solo photo and later shared a selfie with Alexandra Leclerc, who was seen wearing a floral dress.Meanwhile, Alexandra Leclerc also shared a few pictures in which she could be seen trying her hand at painting in Shanghai. She wrote along with them, “I came across this beautiful demonstration of traditional Chinese silk embroidery in the Shanghai paddock. The artist recreates paintings entirely with silk threads, stitch by stitch. This single piece takes about seven months to complete, a reminder of how much patience and craftsmanship lies behind these centuries-old techniques. She was recreating my favourite painting by Monet and let me give it a try.”

George Russell wins Sprint, finishes second in Chinese Grand Prix qualifying

George Russell arrived in Shanghai soon after winning the Australian Grand Prix and went on to win both the Sprint Qualifying and the Sprint race at the Chinese Grand Prix. He also joined teammate Kimi Antonelli on the front row after the latter secured his maiden pole position in Shanghai during qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix.Russell later shared celebratory pictures from his Sprint victory on Instagram and wrote, “First Sprint race win of the season. Really fun few opening laps too! Well done team.”Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc finished fourth, behind teammate Lewis Hamilton, who placed second in qualifying. Speaking after Saturday’s qualifying session, Leclerc told Formula One Group, “There wasn’t much more for us, for me. I am struggling a lot on this track for some reason. It is not that I am not trying, I am putting in a lot of effort.”The Chinese Grand Prix final is scheduled for Sunday at 3 pm local time (12:30 pm IST).
