The changes, some of which took effect from May 15 and others that will come into force on July 1, include lower base reward accrual rates, higher fees on some services, and conditional airport lounge access tied to quarterly spending.
Under the revised structure for Regalia Gold cards, customers now earn 5 reward points for every ₹200 spent, compared with 4 points for every ₹150 earlier, reducing the effective reward rate on regular spending. Accelerated reward categories remain unchanged.
The bank has also increased the Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) fee to 1.75% on international transactions billed in Indian rupees and introduced a ₹199 fee for card reissuance in cases such as loss or damage.
From July 1, complimentary domestic airport lounge access for both Regalia Gold and Diners Privilege cardholders will become spend-linked. Customers will need to spend ₹60,000 in the previous calendar quarter to qualify for lounge visits in the next quarter.
For Regalia Gold users, eligible customers will continue to receive three complimentary domestic lounge visits per quarter through direct card swipe, while international lounge access through Priority Pass remains unchanged.
For Diners Privilege customers, eligible users will receive lounge vouchers through the SmartBuy platform, including two domestic and one international lounge access voucher per quarter.
At the same time, HDFC Bank is introducing a new “Travel Edge” programme for Regalia Gold customers, offering travel-related perks such as airport transfers, hotel dining benefits, spa access, and room upgrades, subject to boarding pass validation and voucher issuance.
