Stock Market Today, May 19: The Indian stock markets witnessed a sharp volatility on Tuesday, May 19, with benchmark indices – Sensex and Nifty erasing all morning gains to end in the red territory as the Indian rupee tumbled to a fresh lifetime low against the US dollar.
Sensex fell 114.19 points or 0.15 per cent to close at 75,200.85, while the Nifty 50 index declined 31.95 points or 0.14 per cent to end the session at 23,618. This came even as India VIX, which measures volatility in markets, declined over 5% to 18.57.
