Pace Digitek has received an advance work order (AWO) worth ₹264.65 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the BharatNet middle-mile and last-mile network project in the Sikkim Telecom Circle.
The order entails the design, supply, construction, installation, upgradation, operation and maintenance (O&M) of BharatNet network infrastructure in the northeastern state.
As part of the project, Pace Digitek will deploy optical fibre cable (OFC) infrastructure, IP-MPLS routers, telecom power systems, remote fibre monitoring systems and related network infrastructure across Sikkim.
The scope also includes underground and aerial OFC deployment, GP and block-level network equipment, last-mile connectivity infrastructure and long-term O&M services. The project is slated to be completed within three years.
Commenting on the development, Pace Digitek chairman and managing director Venugopal Rao Maddisetty said, “We are pleased to receive this BharatNet project order from BSNL, further strengthening our Telecom & ICT business and reinforcing our capabilities across telecom infrastructure and fibre network deployment.”
Calling BharatNet a “key national digital infrastructure programme”, Maddisetty said the project aligns with the company’s strengths in OFC deployment, telecom power systems, network infrastructure and long-term O&M services.
“This order further enhances our execution credentials and positions us well for future broadband and digital infrastructure opportunities,” he added.
The company said the project will bolster its Telecom & ICT business while expanding its presence in government-led broadband connectivity projects under the BharatNet programme.
