Manav Gohil reacts to ‘Dhurandhar 2 ‘ being called propoganda
In an interview with News18, Manav Gohil defended the Aditya Dhar directorial. He said, “Cinema is purely a medium of creative expression. The moment you put the baggage of politics and morality on it, you’re constraining its wings that otherwise let it fly.”
He went on to add, “Art and politics shouldn’t be merged. People do it, but I can’t have an opinion on that because that’s just how the world functions today.”Citing the example of a Hollywood movie, which showcased the CIA’s manhunt for Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, the actor shared that no one questioned that narrative. He said, “When ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ was made, they didn’t make a comment on it. The international media didn’t speak about the politics for a lot of other films.”Manav added that the movie being discussed means it validates that the film is successful. The actor stated, “It’s said that when a friend speaks ill of you or discusses you, that means you’re growing. In the same way, I feel it’s a good thing that people are talking about our film, be it in a good or bad fashion.”
