DMart Share Price: Shares of Avenue Supermarts, the operator of DMart, climbed more than 8 per cent on Wednesday (April 1), driven by the company achieving a major milestone of 500 stores across India.
12 new stores announced across multiple states
In an exchange filing dated March 31, the company announced the opening of 12 new stores spread across several key states, including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat.

As of 12:10 PM, DMart shares were trading at Rs 4,253.45 on the BSE, up 7.4 per cent (Rs 292), reflecting strong investor sentiment following the expansion update. The prices hit an intraday high of Rs 4293, reflecting an upside of 8.4 per cent.
The brokerage now expects around 85 store additions in FY26, sharply higher than its earlier estimate of 40–50 stores, implying network growth of about 20 per cent versus the previous 13–14 per cent.
The total store count is projected to reach 500, supported by an aggressive March expansion that saw 48 new stores opened, including 36 in the last 10 days alone. Fourth-quarter additions stood at 58 stores, compared with 27 in the first nine months of FY26.
Expansion remains strong across key states such as Maharashtra, NCR, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu, with new market entries in Odisha, Goa, and Uttarakhand. Morgan Stanley believes this robust store rollout will underpin DMart’s revenue growth outlook for FY27.

Avenue Supermarts (DMart) has delivered mixed performance across timeframes. The stock gained 9–15 per cent over one week to three months and is up 15 per cent YTD. However, it declined 3.7 per cent over six months. Longer term, DMart remains strong, rising 26 per cent over three years and 47 per cent over five years.
