Is *NSYNC coming back? Joey Fatone reveals reunion status: ‘Finally got an answer’ | English Movie News

Is *NSYNC finally coming back from their hiatus? Has the day finally come?Fans have been keeping the hope for a *NSYNC reunion alive for years. A quick performance here, a new song there — all these have been just enough to make everyone wonder if a big reunion was right around the corner. But now, Joey Fatone gave an honest update, and it’s not exactly uplifting, especially for the hardcore fans.

What Joey Fatone revealed about *NSYNC reunion

Joey Fatone recently revealed the group finally sat down and had the real talk about getting back together. Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Fatone himself — all five guys were in on it. But instead of planning a big comeback, the conversation just cleared the air: a reunion isn’t happening anytime soon.“Probably not, flat out,” Joey told Page Six during an interview. They all asked each other, “Literally we just said, ‘Hey, do we see anything happening in a couple of years of *NSYNC?’ And that was a no.”It was just a check-in, not the start of anything big. They didn’t even get as far as discussing gigs or a tour. Mostly, they were just catching up: “It was literally the five of us going, ‘how’s everybody doing?’”Fatone, who’s out promoting his show “Boy Band Confidential,” didn’t sugarcoat things. He doesn’t think everyone’s interested in hitting the stage together, and he laid it out bluntly: “Do I see anything happen in the next two to four years? Probably not. Flat out. Finally got an answer.”Fatone shared that not everyone’s on board, and nobody has a plan for a tour or an album. It’s less about schedules and more about where everyone’s heads are at.

A quick look back at *NSYNC

For those who haven’t grown up on *NSYNC’s music, the band started in Orlando back in 1995 with Justin, JC, Chris, Joey, and Lance, and they were everywhere for a while. ‘Bye Bye Bye’, ‘It’s Gonna Be Me’, ‘Tearin’ Up My Heart’ — all those songs ruled the late 90s and early 2000s. Their album ‘No Strings Attached’ smashed records in 2000, selling over a million copies in a day. Back in the day, *NSYNC was huge. Then, at the top of their game in 2002, they paused everything. Officially, it was just a break and a chance for solo projects, with plans to regroup. That never happened. Timberlake’s solo career exploded, and, well, the group never found its way back. The “pause” quietly became a breakup, not with a big announcement, just a slow fade.Since then, *NSYNC pop up every now and then: a performance at the 2013 MTV VMAs, a Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, or the 2023 single ‘Better Place’. Each time, fans get excited, but so far, there’s been no lasting reunion.

Is Justin Timberlake a factor?

Frankly, one can’t talk about *NSYNC without Justin Timberlake coming up. His recent scandals haven’t gone unnoticed, either. Per E! News, in June 2024, he got arrested for DWI (driving while intoxicated) in Sag Harbor, New York, and was charged with driving while intoxicated and a couple of traffic violations. His mugshot was everywhere, and his comment to the police: “This is going to ruin the tour,” turned into an instant meme. He eventually took a plea deal, so the DWI is just a traffic violation instead of a criminal charge. Timberlake even tried blocking the release of police bodycam footage, but nearly two years later, it got out earlier this year.
