Mankind Pharma Q2 profit jumps 39% to ₹712 crore as revenue rises 17%

Pharmaceutical company Mankind Pharma reported a 39.2% year-on-year rise in net profit to ₹712 crore for the second quarter, up from ₹511.5 crore a year earlier.

Revenue from operations increased 17.3% to ₹4,338 crore from ₹3,697.16 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 27.1% to ₹1,171 crore from ₹921.3 crore. The EBITDA margin, which measures operating profit as a share of revenue, improved to 27% from 24.9% a year earlier.

The firm reported 15.9% growth in its domestic business in the second quarter of FY27, supported by volume growth that was 1.2 times the growth of the Indian Pharmaceutical Market (IPM), according to a statement by Vice Chairman and Managing Director Rajeev Juneja.

The company’s domestic business recorded mid-teen growth, with its chronic portfolio growing 1.1 times faster than the market, led by 19% growth in cardiac and 16% growth in anti-diabetes. Its acute portfolio outperformed the market by 1.1 times, supported by 19% growth in gastro and 26% growth in the VMN segment.

The domestic specialty business of Bharat Serums and Vaccines (BSV) also recorded steady double-digit growth, while the international business grew 33% during the quarter. The over-the-counter (OTC) business, however, reported muted growth.

Juneja said disciplined execution and strengthening business fundamentals supported the company’s performance. He also highlighted Mankind Pharma’s acquisition of Armed Cell Therapeutics, which marks its entry into next-generation CAR-T therapies and is aimed at strengthening its research and development capabilities.

Consumer healthcare business

Mankind Pharma’s consumer healthcare business saw growth affected by slower category offtake across the industry and regional factors in eastern and southern India.

Despite the softer growth, the company gained market share in its Manforce and Preganews brands. The share of modern trade and e-commerce in the consumer healthcare business increased to 18% in Q2 FY27 from 12% in the year-ago quarter, supported by 55% growth.

Secondary sales of Preganews and Ova News grew 14% and 10% year-on-year, respectively, during the quarter.

H1 FY27 performance

For the first half of FY27, revenue from operations stood at ₹8,368 crore, up 15.1% year-on-year. Domestic revenue rose 12.7% to ₹7,082 crore, while exports grew 31% to ₹1,286 crore.

The EBITDA margin for the first half improved by 230 basis points year-on-year to 26.7%, while the profit after tax (PAT) margin rose 210 basis points to 15.4%. Diluted earnings per share increased 34.6% year-on-year to ₹30.9.

Separately, Mankind Pharma’s board approved a scheme to merge its wholly owned subsidiaries Prolijune Lifesciences Private Limited and Pavi Buildwell Private Limited into the parent company. The proposed merger has an appointed date of April 1, 2027, and is subject to the necessary statutory and regulatory approvals, including those from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), where applicable.

The company said the merger qualifies for an exemption from obtaining a no-objection letter from stock exchanges under applicable regulations. It will, however, submit the scheme to the exchanges for disclosure purposes.

The board also took note of a separate proposed merger involving Upakarma Ayurveda Private Limited (UAPL) and Mankind Consumer Products Private Limited (MCPPL), which their respective boards approved on October 26, 2026.

MCPPL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mankind Pharma, while UAPL is its step-down subsidiary. The proposed merger is subject to the required statutory, regulatory and other approvals.
