Stock market closing: After posting a strong gain of nearly 6 per cent last week, Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, started Monday’s session (April 13) on a weak note, declining over 2 per cent in the early trade and closed nearly 1 per cent down compared to previous close.
The BSE Sensex, after hitting an intraday low of 75,868.32, ended the session at 76,847.57, down 702.68 points or 0.91 per cent. The NSE Nifty50 settled at 23,842.65, down 207.95 points or 0.86 per cent. During the day Nifty50 swung between 23,907.40 and 23,555.60. Sensex and Nifty opened in red today. The BSE Sensex started at 75,937.16, while the Nifty 50 opened at 23,589.60.
