In a notification issued on July 28, the Commission invited Central government and Union Territory organisations, associations, unions, institutions, individuals and pensioners from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territory of Chandigarh to seek appointments for the consultations.
Registration open till August 25
Eligible stakeholders can submit appointment requests through the online portal notified by the Commission. Applications must be filed by August 25, 2026, along with the Unique Memo ID generated after submitting the memorandum.
The Commission said details of the venue and meeting schedule will be shared separately with selected participants.
More regional consultations lined up
The Chandigarh meetings are part of the Commission’s wider outreach exercise across the country.
Earlier, the Commission announced consultations with associations, federations and unions of Central government and UT employees based or registered in New Delhi from August 7 to 10.
It will also hold stakeholder meetings in Chennai on September 7 and 8, followed by consultations in Puducherry on September 9.
The Commission has clarified that stakeholders from states and Union Territories other than Tamil Nadu should not seek appointments for the Puducherry meetings, as consultations for other regions will be scheduled separately.
Opportunity to present demands
The consultations allow employee unions, pensioner bodies and other stakeholders to present their views on issues including pay revision, pension, fitment factor, promotions, service conditions and other employee-related matters before the Commission finalises its recommendations.
The Centre had given the Eighth Pay Commission an 18-month timeline in November 2025 to submit its report. Before announcing the latest consultation schedules, the panel had already met stakeholders in New Delhi, Lucknow, Leh, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata.
