The Central Government provides ₹6,000 annually to farmers in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The payment is credited every four months.
The 22nd installment of the PM-Kisan scheme was released on March 13. While the exact date for the 23rd installment has not been officially confirmed yet, the next installment is likely to be credited around June-July 2026.
Only those farmers who have completed their e-KYC and have verified land records will receive the payment.
The PM-Kisan scheme was launched in December 2018, with the first installment released in February 2019. The main objective of the scheme was to provide financial support to millions of small and marginal farmers across India.
Types of PM-Kisan e-KYCOTP-based KYC: Farmers can complete this through the PM-Kisan portal or mobile app using their Aadhaar-linked mobile number. An OTP is sent to verify identity.
Biometric e-KYC: This is done at Common Service Centres (CSCs) using Aadhaar authentication through fingerprint verification. It is useful for farmers whose mobile numbers are not linked with Aadhaar.
Face authentication e-KYC: Farmers can also complete e-KYC using face recognition through the PM-Kisan mobile app.
How to check PM-Kisan e-KYC status
Farmers can easily check their PM-Kisan e-KYC status online through the official portal. Here’s how:
Visit the official PM-Kisan website: https://pmkisan.gov.in
On the homepage, go to the ‘Farmers Corner’ section.
Click on ‘Know Your Status’.
Enter your Aadhaar number, mobile number, or registration number, and fill in the captcha code.
Click on ‘Get Data’ to view your details.
View beneficiary status and check payment details.
Your PM-Kisan account status will appear, showing whether your e-KYC is completed, pending, or required.
