The instalment was released during the ‘Paschimbanga Divas’ (West Bengal Day) celebrations held at Tarakeswar in Hooghly district, where the Prime Minister also launched and inaugurated several development projects related to agriculture, railways, fisheries and rural infrastructure.
According to the Press Information Bureau (PIB), more than ₹900 crore from the latest instalment will benefit over 45 lakh farmers in West Bengal alone. With this release, the total amount disbursed under the PM-KISAN scheme in the state has crossed ₹15,000 crore.
Nationwide, the government has transferred more than ₹4.46 lakh crore to farmers since the launch of the PM-KISAN scheme in 2019.
What is PM-KISAN Scheme?
The PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi is a central government income support scheme for eligible farmer families. Under the scheme, beneficiaries receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The financial assistance is aimed at helping farmers meet agricultural and household expenses.
Who gets PM-KISAN benefits?
Farmers who own cultivable land and meet the eligibility criteria set by the government are entitled to receive PM-KISAN benefits.
To continue receiving instalments, beneficiaries are required to complete:
- Aadhaar linking
- e-KYC verification
- Bank account verification
Farmers with incomplete documentation or verification issues may face delays in receiving payments.

- Click on ‘Know Your Status’ or ‘Beneficiary List’
- Enter Aadhaar number or registered mobile number
- Complete OTP verification
- The payment and beneficiary status will appear on the screen
