Customers who need to deposit or clear cheques, apply for loans, submit documents, complete KYC formalities, or carry out other branch-related work should visit the bank between June 22 and June 25.
Bank Holiday Schedule: June 26-28June 26 (Friday) – Muharram
Bank branches will remain closed in several cities due to the observance of Muharram, which marks the Islamic New Year and Ashura. The holiday is expected to be observed in cities including Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar and Vijayawada.
June 27 (Saturday) – Fourth Saturday
Banks across India will remain closed as June 27 falls on the fourth Saturday of the month.
June 28 (Sunday) – Weekly Holiday
All bank branches nationwide will remain shut on Sunday, June 28.
Customers planning to deposit cheques, update KYC details, apply for loans, complete documentation, or carry out branch-related transactions are advised to finish their work before June 26 to avoid delays. With three consecutive non-working days for many branches, some banking requests may be processed only after branches reopen.
However, digital banking services, including UPI, internet banking, mobile banking, ATMs, NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS, will continue to operate normally.
Banks will also remain closed in select states on two additional days later this month. On June 29, bank branches in Shimla will remain shut on account of Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti. On June 30, banks in Aizawl will be closed for Remna Ni, a state holiday observed in Mizoram.
