James Bond search advances; Jacob Elordi, Harris Dickinson, Callum Turner lead next round of auditions |


The search for the next James Bond is reportedly entering a its second phase, with producers and director Denis Villeneuve narrowing down candidates to play 007.According to Deadline, actors have started receiving notifications about a next round of auditions, scheduled to take in August. Although unconfirmed, the report states that Villeneuve has been personally reaching out to actors as part of the casting process.

While no names have been officially confirmed, the report states that actors including Harris Dickinson, Callum Turner and Jacob Elordi are in the running for the next stage of auditions. As per the report, the auditions are expected to take place in August, although the exact number of actors advancing remains unclear.

Director and Producers on the hunt for next Bond

Insiders believe that producers will cast a wide net, with five to seven contenders vying for the role, while others suggest the number could be significantly higher. Besides the known faces, rumours of relatively new names joining the list are also doing the rounds.Villeneuve, alongside producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman, has reportedly spent the past week contacting prospective candidates about the upcoming auditions.

Next Bond film to begin production in 2027

Although a final casting announcement may still be months away, the report suggests that the makers are aiming to select its new James Bond by the end of the year. This would set the ball rolling for the spy franchise to begin production in 2027.The next actor to be cast as Bond, would pick up after Daniel Craig, whose tenure concluded with 2021’s ‘No Time to Die’. Since then, speculation has swirled over who will take up the mantle of the British secret agent. While early reports indicated that the film could feature several known British actors, others suggested that the makers are keen to cast a younger talent.
