The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) will begin the online registration process for Technician recruitment 2026 from June 30, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for 6,565 vacancies for Technician Grade I Signal and Technician Grade III posts through the official RRB application portal.The recruitment has been announced through Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 02/2026 under the Ministry of Railways. Candidates can submit their application forms until July 29, 2026.
Vacancy details
According to the official notification, a total of 6,565 posts will be filled through this recruitment drive. Out of these:
- 323 vacancies are for Technician Grade I Signal.
- 6,242 vacancies are for Technician Grade III.
Candidates applying for Technician Grade I Signal should have a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree or a Diploma in the relevant field. For Technician Grade III posts, applicants must have passed Class 10 along with an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate in the required trade.
Age limit
The age limit will be calculated as on July 1, 2026.
- Technician Grade I Signal: 18 to 33 years
- Technician Grade III: 18 to 30 years
Age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates as per government rules.
Application fee
Candidates belonging to the General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs 500.For candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) categories, the application fee is Rs 250.The fee can be paid only through the online application portal.
Selection process
The selection process includes:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Document Verification
- Medical Examination
Candidates who qualify in each stage will be considered for final selection as per Railway Recruitment Board norms.

Candidates can follow these steps to submit their application:
- Visit the official RRB application portal.
- Register using the required details.
- Fill in the online application form carefully.
- Enter your Aadhaar details and ensure they match your Class 10 records.
- Upload the required documents and photographs.
- Pay the application fee online.
- Submit the application form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
Candidates can apply through only one Railway Recruitment Board for each Pay Level. Only one application per Pay Level will be accepted, and submitting multiple applications for the same Pay Level may lead to rejection.Applicants are also advised to verify their Aadhaar details before submitting the application to avoid any mismatch during the recruitment process.The Computer Based Test schedule will be announced later by the Railway Recruitment Boards through the official website.
