The order also marks the commercial debut of Suzlon Energy’s S175 turbine, India’s tallest, most powerful and FDRE-ready wind turbine secured within two weeks of its launch, the company said in its exchange filing.
Suzlon Energy will supply 21 next-generation S175 (5.0 MW) wind turbine generators (WTGs) as part of this order. The project will be executed in Bijapur district, Karnataka.
This is Sunsure Energy’s third order with Suzlon Energy in the last 14 months and their cumulative partnership now stands at 400.8 MW.
The S175 is powered by a 175 metre rotor and a 160 metre hybrid lattice tower, enabling higher energy yields and superior project economics, Suzlon Energy said. It unlocks new wind frontiers by converting previously unviable sites into commercially attractive opportunities, significantly expanding the addressable market for wind energy.
“Developing 400.8 MW with Sunsure Energy in a short span of 14 months reflects not only the pace at which India’s C&I renewable market is scaling, but also the deep trust our customers place in Suzlon’s technology, execution and innovation,” Ajay Kapur, the CEO of Suzlon Group, said.
Sunsure Energy’s co-founder and chief commercial officer Manish Mehta said the order is a precise strategic choice as the S175 is purpose-built for firm and dispatchable power, enabling seamless integration into hybrid and round-the-clock solutions. “It feeds into our ambition of being a 10 GW platform by 2030 and Suzlon’s three decades of execution across India gives us full confidence in the partnership,” he added.
Shares of Suzlon Energy are trading 0.4% higher at ₹57.46. The stock is up 10% so far in 2026, having gained nearly 7% in the last one month.
