Suzlon Energy wins maiden order of 201.6 MW from Waaree Forever Energies in Andhra Pradesh

Suzlon Energy Limited, India’s leading wind energy solutions provider, has announced a major new order on Thursday, July 23.

The company will execute a 201.6 MW wind power project for Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited (WFEPL), the Independent Power Producer (IPP) arm of Waaree Group, it said in an exchange filing.

This order marks Waaree’s first entry into the wind energy space and represents Suzlon’s second consecutive Development Company (DevCo)-led EPC win within a single week, underscoring the growing industry shift toward integrated, end-to-end project execution models.

The project will be developed under Suzlon’s DevCo model, an approach designed to streamline execution, minimize development risk, and improve scalability for large, complex renewable energy projects.
Under the terms of the agreement, Suzlon will supply and install 64 units of its flagship S144 wind turbine generators, each rated at 3.15 MW, at a site in Andhra Pradesh.

Suzlon’s scope covers its full EPC offering, including land acquisition, turbine supply, Balance of Plant (BoP) works, commissioning, and lifetime operations and maintenance services. With this order, Suzlon’s total orderbook in Andhra Pradesh climbs to nearly 1 GW, reinforcing the state’s position as a key growth market for the company.

As India’s clean energy build-out accelerates, developers are increasingly favoring partners who can manage every stage of a project. from land acquisition to long-term operations, rather than relying on fragmented, multi-vendor arrangements.

Suzlon Group Vice Chairman Girish Tanti described the tie-up as a natural convergence of two companies that have each built world-class manufacturing capabilities in their respective domains — Waaree in solar and Suzlon in wind — and are now evolving into integrated renewable energy players offering combined solutions rather than standalone technologies.

Group CEO Ajay Kapur noted that this is the company’s second consecutive DevCo-led EPC order in a week, pointing to rising demand for partners capable of de-risking execution and delivering renewable projects at scale.

Shares of Suzlon Energy are recovering from the lows of the day, now trading 0.2% higher after the order win at ₹53.11. The stock has just turned positive on a year-to-date basis.
