The companies said the partnership combines Tata Communications’ AI, cloud and communications capabilities with TTBS’ extensive SMB distribution network to deliver a sovereign, integrated AI stack, including AI-powered voice agents with dedicated fixed-line numbers.
The collaboration is aimed at making enterprise-grade AI solutions simpler, more accessible and easier to deploy for SMBs, the companies said in a press release filed with the exchanges on Tuesday, July 28.

The AI-powered voice agents will be capable of managing customer interactions, handling routine enquiries, scheduling appointments and follow-ups, processing orders and providing always-on customer support.
The solution is powered by Tata Communications’ conversational AI platform, Commotion, and hosted on its Vayu AI Cloud, while TTBS provides the underlying voice infrastructure.
Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Communications, said, “India’s AI opportunity will be realised not only through large enterprises, but by empowering millions of SMBs with access to world-class digital infrastructure and intelligence capabilities.”
He added, “By combining TTBS’s extensive SMB relationships with our cloud, AI and communications expertise, we are creating a differentiated platform that allows businesses to adopt AI with confidence, while ensuring data sovereignty, security and scalability.”
Harjit Singh, Managing Director of Tata Teleservices, said, “India’s SMB sector represents one of the world’s largest untapped opportunities for AI-led transformation.”
He added, “Our collaboration with Tata Communications builds on this foundation to deliver a more comprehensive AI ecosystem that enables businesses to adopt AI with confidence. Together, we are helping SMBs improve productivity, enhance customer experiences and unlock new opportunities for growth.”
The companies said the platform is designed for use cases across sectors, including mobility and healthcare. For instance, transport operators can use AI voice agents to help customers book tickets, modify reservations and access journey information, while healthcare providers can deploy them to schedule appointments, communicate test reports and support patient aftercare.
Tata Communications and TTBS said the collaboration is intended to democratise access to advanced AI infrastructure for India’s more than 60 million SMBs.
The companies also expect the partnership to expand beyond voice AI over time, creating a broader portfolio of AI-powered solutions and digital services for businesses in India and, eventually, global SMB markets.
