With this integration, visitors can select and pay for Burj Khalifa experiences through the attraction’s official website using UPI-enabled apps, instead of relying only on international cards or other payment methods.
The move expands the use of UPI in the UAE beyond physical merchant payments to online travel bookings. Since 2022, UPI-enabled payments have been available at NEOPAY’s merchant network in the UAE through QR-based acceptance.
At the Top, Burj Khalifa is among Dubai’s most visited attractions and attracts travellers from across the world, including a significant number of visitors from India. The latest facility allows Indian tourists to complete bookings in advance using a payment method they already use regularly in India.
The development comes as digital payments become an important part of overseas travel. For Indian travellers, access to familiar payment options can simplify transactions abroad, particularly for booking attractions, experiences and other travel-related services.
The partnership also strengthens the adoption of UPI in international markets. NIPL, the international arm of NPCI, has been working to expand UPI acceptance across countries, allowing Indian travellers to use the real-time payment system outside India.
At the Top, Burj Khalifa offers observation experiences across multiple levels of the tower, including viewing decks on Levels 124 and 125, as well as the premium At the Top SKY experience on Level 148. The Burj Khalifa, standing at 828 metres, is the world’s tallest building.
