Under the programme, Flipkart Plus members will need to complete four qualifying orders of ₹299 or more in a calendar month to access the Netflix Mobile Plan for the next 30 days. The qualifying purchases can be made across Flipkart, Flipkart Grocery and Flipkart Minutes.
This means members will need to place orders worth at least ₹1,196 in a month to unlock the benefit, provided each order meets the minimum value requirement. The Netflix access is not an additional subscription purchase but is linked to the shopping milestones completed by the customer.
Once the fourth qualifying order is completed, the Netflix Mobile Plan will be activated through the Flipkart app. The benefit will remain valid for 30 days and customers will have to complete the required shopping activity again to renew it.
How the offer works
- Flipkart Plus members need to complete four orders of ₹299 or above in a month.
- Orders placed on Flipkart, Flipkart Grocery and Flipkart Minutes will qualify.
- After completing the fourth order, members can activate the Netflix Mobile Plan through the Flipkart app.
- The benefit resets after 30 days and needs to be earned again through fresh qualifying orders.
Customers who are not Flipkart Plus members can become eligible after completing 15 orders over a 12-month period, at no additional membership cost, according to the company.
What consumers should keep in mind
While loyalty programmes can offer additional value, consumers should evaluate such benefits based on their existing spending habits. A reward linked to shopping may be useful for those who are already making regular purchases, but spending more than planned only to unlock a benefit could increase overall expenses.
The Flipkart-Netflix partnership reflects a broader trend where companies are combining shopping, entertainment and lifestyle benefits to increase engagement with loyalty programmes.Similar models are also seen across financial products, including credit cards that offer rewards and subscription benefits linked to spending.
