Bigg Boss 20’s latest episode featured host Salman Khan talking about dealing with negativity in his life and how TV show’ Dus Ka Dum changed his image in people’s eyes. Salman opened up about how people judged his personal life and relationships after Maine Pyar Kiya. The Bollywood superstar, who was schooling the Bigg Boss contestants, shared how the game show, Dus Ka Dum helped him and changed people’s perception of him. Salman said that even after just one episode, the negative image he had in the media began to change.Salman recalled the difficult phase after Maine Pyaar Kiya and a few other films when there was too much negativity about him in the industry. He shared, “Ek mere khud ke life ka ek example main aapko batata hoon. Maine Pyar Kiya, ye kaam, woh kaam… phir main television pe aaya. Aur us waqt bahot saari negativity mere khilaaf, matlab court cases se leke, relationship se leke, pictureon se leke, har cheez.”During this period, he was offered the TV show, Dus Ka Dum. Salman revealed he was initially skeptical doing it and spoke to his father about the offer, “I was not going to do it kyunki itni negativity chal rahi thi mere khilaaf. Har akhbaar kholo, har TV channel, matlab achha-khaasa tabiyat se mazze leke bajaya jaa raha tha, aap logon ka toh kuch bhi nahi hai” he said.The Sultan actor shared his conversation with his father writer Salim Khan and revealed his advise. Salim Khan asked him, “Tumko tumhare personality, mind, dil and upbringing pe bharosa hai ki nahi?” When Salman replied in an affirmation, he advised him to be himself. “My father told me just be yourself in the show,” Salman said.He added, “In that one show they got to know who I was. Samjhe aap. Maine pyaar kiya bhul gaye woh, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Karan Arjun, jitney bhi maine picturein ki hain woh sab bhul gaye aur aaye Dus Ka Dum dekhne. Because they did not see an actor there, they saw a person.”He said that people slowly stopped seeing him only as a film actor and started connecting him with 10 Ka Dum. He further explained his point by drawing a comparision with Amitabh Bachchan and his stint on KBC. He stated that people also began associating the veteran actor with Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).Salman concluded the conversation by recalling how his image got cleared after Dus Ka Dum started airing. “Joh meri image bani thi media mein, that was cleared in one episode.” However, Salman said that his journey also had many ups and downs.
