The company reported an increase in its June quarter earnings across all its key parameters — net profit, revenue, EBITDA, margin.
Its net profit came in at ₹402 crore, up 72.5% from last year’s ₹233 crore.
Its evenue increased 20.8% in the first quarter to ₹2,788 crore from ₹2,309 crore in the previous fiscal.
The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased 60.8% to ₹669.5 crore from ₹416.4 crore last year.
Its margins expanded sharply to 24% from 18% in the year-ago period.
The company had reported a steady March quarter as well. Its profit before exceptional items and tax increased to 450 crore in the fourth quarter from 333 crore in the previous year.
Its revenue was up 6.3% at ₹2,388.5 crore and its EBITDA increased 12.7% to 484 crore.
Its operating margin had expanded to 20.2% in the fourth quarter from 19% in the year-ago period.
Shares of Ipca Labs gained 7.8% to hit an intraday high of ₹1,905 apiece after the first quarter results announcement on Thursday. The stock was trading 2.9% up at ₹1,818.3 apiece at 2.10 pm. It has fallen 0.2% in the past month and is up 30.2% this year, so far.
