The Dappled Forest biome
The headline addition of the Third Drop is an entirely new overworld biome. The dappled forest consists of poplar trees with orange, yellow, and red leaves, as well as dirt blocks covered with leaf litter, new red shrubs, and brown mushrooms. After the Chaos Cubed drop took players deep underground, it is a breath of fresh air to have a brand-new destination to discover on the surface.The addition of poplar trees also brings a new wood set, which is a warm grey colour when broken down into planks and slabs. These maps lead to other abandoned camps or various other types of structures in the Overworld, making exploration feel genuinely rewarding in a way that few Minecraft updates have managed before.
New furniture and building blocks
The drop also brings wool stairs, wool slabs, and wool cushions. Cushions in particular give players a genuine seat block, and pairing them with straw beds gives interiors a soft, homey layer that Minecraft’s blocky palette has always struggled to deliver without workarounds.Straw beds are a new bed variant that lets players sleep through the night without changing their spawn point. They can only be used once and will be destroyed after use, and cannot be used in the Nether or the End.
