Gland Pharma Gets New CEO
Deepak Sapra is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer – API and Services at another Hyderabad-based pharma giant, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Limited (DRL). He is also a Board Member of Aurigene Pharma Services.
His current profile entails responsibility for growth of business in the United
States, European Union, Japan, Brazil, China, Mexico, the Middle East and other emerging markets
This comes after Shyamakant Giri, the most recent former CEO of Gland Pharma, stepped down from the role on April 30, 2026.
Sapra will take charge as the chief executive of the pharma company on November 16, 2026. Sapra has a total of over 23 years of experience in the pharma business.
A Look At Q1 Results
This comes after the company announced its results earlier this week. In the first quarter of FY27. the company recorded a 47.1% year-on-year jump in net profit to ₹317 crore in Q1 FY27. This was higher than the previous year’s ₹215 crore.
The revenue rose 19.6% year-on-year to ₹1,800.2 crore from ₹1,505.6 crore in Q1 FY26.
Furthermore, in terms of profitability, the Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 33.1% year-on-year. Here, the EBITDA rose to ₹489.2 crore from ₹367.6 crore. EBITDA margin stood at 27.2%, compared with 24.4% in the year-ago quarter. Adjusted EBITDA margin stood at 28%.
