Delhi Laxmi Yojana: Pension letters expected by August 26, how to check your application status

The Delhi government is all set to hand over the official pension letter to eligible women under Delhi Lakshmi Yojana on August 26 at Talkatora Stadium. The government said that the pension amount will start being credited directly to women’s accounts from 1st of next month.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta earlier informed that around 8 lakh women have registered on the official Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Portal within 18 days of the scheme’s launch and more than 5 lakh applications have been submitted so far.

She has also directed district-level committees to expedite the verification of applications so that eligible women can receive the benefits of the scheme without unnecessary delay.

“The faster the verification process is completed, the sooner the cases will be disposed of, and the process of disbursing pensions to eligible women will also be expedited,” CM Gupta said at a Delhi Secretariat meeting, where she reviewed the progress of the scheme.

The scheme, which came into effect on August 1, provides a financial assistance of ₹ 2,500 a month to empower women by enabling them to meet their day-to-day needs with dignity, self-reliance, and financial independence.

How to check status of your application?

Step 1: To check your Delhi Lakshmi Yojana status, visit the official portal of Delhi Lakshmi Yojana: https://dly.delhi.gov.in/

Step 2: On the homepage, click on ‘Track Application’

Step 3: A new page will open where you need to enter your mobile number, date of birth, and the captcha displayed on the screen.

Step 4: Once done, click on sign in and your application status will be displayed.

The monthly financial assistance under the scheme will be credited to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts from September 1. The scheme, however, does not necessarily mean that the entire ₹2,500 will be available as unrestricted monthly cash.

By default, ₹1,500 will be deposited into a recurring deposit (RD) or fixed deposit (FD), while the remaining ₹1,000 will be credited to the beneficiary’s bank account linked to a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) wallet.

The RD/FD portion will have a lock-in period until July 31, 2029. A beneficiary can also choose to put the entire ₹2,500 into an RD or FD, subject to the same lock-in period.

Can women still apply for the scheme?

Yes. Applications for the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana will remain open throughout the year on the scheme’s portal: https://dly.delhi.gov.in/Account/Login.

The last day of each month will be treated as the cut-off date for applications received during that month. Eligible applications approved thereafter will be considered for benefits from the subsequent month.
