Stocks to BUY Today, August 31: The Indian stock market is expected to start on a weaker note on Monday (August 31), as indicated by GIFT Nifty.

As of 8:20 am IST, GIFT Nifty traded 0.2 per cent, or 52.5 points, lower at 24,222.50. GIFT Nifty is a pre-market indicator for the Nifty 50 and often signals whether the benchmark index is likely to open higher, lower or flat based on global market cues. (GIFT Nifty Today)

Ahead of the trading session, SEBI-registered research analyst Kunal Bothra and Pradip Halder, Founder and CEO of PHD Capital Pvt Ltd, have recommended a few stocks that could potentially be bought or sold during Monday’s trading session.

SAIL Share Price Target Today

Kunal Bothra has recommended a BUY call on SAIL, with a target price of Rs 210 and a stop-loss at Rs 194.

GNG Electronics Share Price Target

Pradip Halder has recommended a BUY call on GNG Electronics, with target prices of Rs 678, Rs 715 and Rs 760, and a stop-loss at Rs 576.

ASK Automotive Share Price Target

Pradip Halder has recommended a BUY call on ASK Automotive, with target prices of Rs 649 and Rs 688, and a stop-loss at Rs 598.

Nifty Levels to Watch

Additionally, ahead of today’s trading session, here are the key support and resistance levels to watch:

  • Resistance Levels: 24,300 and 24,500

Asian Markets Today

Asian markets traded lower on Monday (August 31), with most major indices posting losses.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 slipped over 1.5 per cent to 65,387. South Korea’s KOSPI traded about 2 per cent lower at 6,656.86, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down 0.8 per cent at 25,385. Meanwhile, China’s Shanghai Composite was down about 0.5 per cent at 3,934.07.

Stock Market on August 28

Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty rebounded on Friday after two days of losses and ended higher, tracking buying in blue-chip IT stocks and a rally in global markets.

On Friday, August 28, the 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex gained 330.92 points, or 0.43 per cent, to close at 77,264.51. During the day, it jumped 424.38 points, or 0.55 per cent, to 77,357.97.

The NSE Nifty rose 84.80 points, or 0.35 per cent, to close at 24,175.65. The Nifty Bank index, which tracks the movement of the country’s top 12 listed banks, closed 13.65 points, or 0.02 per cent, lower at 57,496.30.

Among the 30 Sensex firms, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCLTech, Titan and Eternal were the major winners. ICICI Bank, UltraTech Cement, Asian Paints and ITC were among the laggards.
