Canara Bank changes ATM charges from September 1: Check new rules


Canara Bank has revised certain ATM and cash recycler charges for savings bank account holders, with the changes coming into effect from September 1.

For regular customers using Canara Bank ATMs or cash recyclers, the number of free transactions in a calendar month has been reduced from six to five. The free limit for senior citizens remains unchanged at eight transactions.

Once the free transaction limit is exhausted, the charge for financial transactions such as cash withdrawals has increased to ₹23 plus GST, from ₹20 plus GST earlier.

The bank has retained the charge for non-financial transactions, such as balance enquiries, at ₹5 plus GST beyond the free transaction limit.

Canara Bank has also revised the charge for transactions where the customer’s account has insufficient funds. This has increased to ₹23 plus GST, from ₹17 plus GST earlier, beyond the applicable free transaction limit.

For Canara Bank debit card holders using other banks’ ATMs, the existing free transaction limit remains three transactions a month in metro centres and five in non-metro centres. The charge for financial transactions beyond the free limit is ₹23 plus GST.

The bank has also reduced the charge for Green PIN regeneration beyond the free transaction limit from ₹23 plus GST to ₹5 plus GST.Canara Bank’s service-charge schedule states that the revised charges are effective from September 1. The schedule was updated on August 1, 2026.
