West Bengal's Annapurna Yojana payout today: 1.58 crore women to get ₹3,000 each

Nearly 1.58 crore women in West Bengal are set to receive the September instalment of ₹3,000 under the Annapurna Yojana on Thursday, September 17.

The September payout is being transferred directly to eligible beneficiaries’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari had said that the September payment would be made on September 17, which is being observed as ‘Annapurna Divas’ in the state.

The number of beneficiaries has risen by around 10 lakh from August, when approximately 1.48 crore women received the benefit, according to the chief minister.

Under the scheme, eligible women receive ₹3,000 every month. The scheme covers women aged 25 to 60, subject to conditions including not being in permanent government employment and not being an income-tax payer.

The West Bengal government introduced the Annapurna Yojana in 2026, with the financial assistance to be credited directly to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-linked bank account.
