The programme allows members to earn Maharaja Points on eligible Air India and Air India Express flights, Star Alliance partner airlines and transactions with participating non-airline partners.
Air India said the partner network now covers more than 100 companies across categories including hotels, travel, retail, lifestyle and financial services. Members recorded more than 4.2 million transactions with partner brands in FY26, the airline said.
Air India Express flights added
Air India Express flights became eligible for Maharaja Club points in May 2026. Members can earn Maharaja Points and Tier Points on eligible Air India Express flights and can also redeem points for eligible Air India Express award tickets.
Air India currently lists award flights starting at 1,500 Maharaja Points on Air India Express and 2,500 points on Air India. Cabin upgrades start at 4,500 points. The number of points required can vary depending on the flight and availability.
Points can be pooled with family members
Maharaja Club also allows members to create a Family Pool, under which points earned by eligible family members can be combined for redemption.
The programme allows a Family Head to add up to eight eligible family members. Air India has removed the fee for creating a Family Pool from August 11, 2026.
Partner list can change
While the programme’s partner network has grown, individual partnerships can also change. Air India’s Maharaja Club updates page lists several partnerships that have ended or are scheduled to end in 2026.
These include partnerships with AU Bank, Fi Money, Soneva, The Leela, Roseate Hotels, Antara Cruises, Zomato and VIP, among others.
For members, this means the brands and transactions eligible for earning points can change, making it necessary to check the current terms for individual partners before making a purchase specifically to earn Maharaja Points.
Maharaja Points earned through the programme do not expire for active members, according to Air India’s current terms. Members can also use Cash + Points for eligible bookings and purchase additional points to top up their balance.
