Bajaj Finance Q2 business update: AUM rises 26.5%, new loans booked up 11%


Bajaj Finance announced its business updates for quarter 2 of FY27 on Saturday, October 3. In these updates, the company has reported strong growth in assets under management and the loan book.

In an exchange filing issued on October 3, the company said that at the end of the quarter, its assets under management (AUM) jumped by 26.5% YoY, rising to ₹5.85 lakh crore, compared to the previous financial cycle’s ₹4.62 lakh crore.

As of September 30, 2026, the Pune-based financial company’s customer franchise stood at 128.85 million compared to 110.64 million in the previous cycle. In addition, the new loans booked rose by 11%, jumping to 13.45 million, compared to 12.17 million a year ago.

In addition, Bajaj Finance also said that as of September 30, 2026, its deposit book stood at ₹69,750 crore

When we take a look at the company’s performance in Q1, during the quarter, Net Interest Income (NII) reached ₹12,571 crore. In this quarter, the NII rose by 23% compared to the corresponding period in the previous year. However, this figure fell short of the CNBC-TV18 poll projection of ₹13,102 crore.

Bajaj Finance reported an improvement in asset quality metrics during the June quarter. Gross Non-Performing Assets (NPA) declined to 0.96% from 1.03% in the preceding March quarter, while Net NPA improved to 0.39% from 0.5% in the previous quarter.

The net profit for the period amounted to ₹5,986 crore. Furthermore, in the quarter that ended in June, the loan loss provisions and reserves totalled ₹1,993 crore for the quarter, which encompassed prudent management provisions and economic provisions amounting to ₹296 crore. On an adjusted basis, excluding these provisions, the figure stood at ₹1,697 crore.

Now, when we take a quick look at the shares of Bajaj Finance, the financial services company saw a decline of over 1% on the last day of trade, which was Thursday.

The stock opened at ₹953.90 against its previous close of ₹959.40. During the session, it touched an intraday high of ₹955.95 and an intraday low of ₹937.30.

Over the past month of trading, the shares have shed 10% in value so far this year; the Bajaj Finance shares have slumped over 2.50%. The stock is 19.50% below its 52-week high of ₹1,178.00.

The shares, now at ₹948 per piece, are sitting safe, 20.34% above their 52-week low of ₹788.00. The stock closed in the green in 4 out of the last 10 trading sessions.
