GPT Infra arm Alcon Builders declared L1 bidder for ₹149.49 crore Western Railway project


Alcon Builders and Engineers Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of GPT Infraprojects (GPT Infra), has been declared the L1 (first lowest) bidder for an order worth ₹149.49 crore from Western Railway.

The contract has been awarded by DYCSTE-W-RJT-S and T/Western Railway for work in the Bhavnagar Division.

The project involves the codal life-based replacement of existing PI stations with electronic interlocking (EI), MSDAC and in-built block working, including signalling and telecom equipment at 18 stations.

The scope of work includes design, supply, installation, programming, testing and commissioning of the equipment.

Earlier, on September 17, the firm had informed that it has received a ₹483.72 crore contract, including GST, from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) for construction of a major railway bridge over the Mahanadi River in Odisha.

The contract involves construction of Important Bridge 544, a 32×65.84-metre open web steel girder bridge over the Mahanadi River, as part of the construction of the third and fourth railway lines between the Nergundi-Barang section in the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway.

The order is valued at ₹409.94 crore excluding GST and is to be executed within 1,095 days from the appointed date. The order has been awarded by the Chief Project Manager, RVNL, Bhubaneswar, and is classified as bridge works for Railways.GPT Infraprojects shares closed ₹0.34 lower at ₹118 on October 1, at NSE.
