The additions were led by Groww, which added around 101,000 active clients during the month. Angel One added around 37,000 clients, while Aaritya Broking (Sahi) added 28,077.
Dhan recorded the third-highest net addition among the top 10 NSE brokers, adding 13,624 active clients in September. Its active client base rose to 1.12 million from 1.01 million in August, according to the latest NSE active-client data.
Dhan’s active client base has now increased for 12 consecutive months, rising from 979,483 in October 2025 to 1.12 million in September 2026.
Among other major brokers, ICICI Securities added around 5,000 active clients, while HDFC Securities and Motilal Oswal added around 3,000 each. Zerodha saw a marginal decline of around 5,000 clients, while Upstox lost around 11,000.
SBI Securities reported the largest decline among the major brokers, with its active client base falling by around 23,000 during September. Kotak Securities remained broadly stable.
Groww’s active client base rose to 13.45 million from 13.35 million in August, taking its NSE market share to 29.16% from 29.04%. Angel One and Zerodha had market shares of 14.65% and 14.73%, respectively.
On a quarterly basis, the NSE’s active client base increased by around 673,000 during July-September, from 45.45 million to 46.12 million. Groww accounted for around 324,000 of the additions during the quarter, or nearly 48% of the net increase.
